The Glebe, built in 1815, is a historic house with an octagon-shaped wing that is located at 4527 17th St., North in Arlington, Virginia. It served as the glebe house of Fairfax Parish, Virginia. On February 23, 1972, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places.〔 It is also preserved by the (Northern Virginia Conservation Trust ) with a conservation easement. The Glebe of Fairfax Parish was a farm established in 1775 which included the Glebe House. Glebe lands were public lands set aside in colonial times for the support of the established Anglican church. These glebe lands were for the benefit of Fairfax Parish and the original house served as the rectory, or dwelling house for the minister.
